Department of Indian Languages & Comparative Literature

The school is serving as a link between the study of Tamil with other ancient and modern Indian Languages and Literatures and analysing the problems of studying the mother-tongue, as a first language or as a second language in the curricula. The school has been conducting A spoken Sanskrit course A certificate and Diploma course in Telugu. History of Malayalam Grammar, Tolkappiam, Telugu Translation, Telugu-Tamil Dictionary are a few of the publications of the School. Preparation is on, for a course in Tamil for the Virtual University. A project on special Tamil course for probationers of All India Services has been successfully completed.

Objectives
