Common Management Admission Test (CMAT), invites applications for admission to the All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE) Exam for the academic session

The Common Management Admission Test (CMAT) is a National Level Entrance Examination for admission to management programmes in the country. This Test facilitates AICTE Affiliated/ Participating Institutions to select suitable graduate candidates for admission to the Management Courses in their Institutions. Till 2018, the Test was conducted by All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE). NTA is conducting this Test since 2019. The CMAT score is accepted by all AICTE-approved institutions / University Departments / Constituent Colleges / Affiliated Colleges.

CMAT Exam

CMAT will be conducted by NTA as three hour entrance Examination in Computer
Based Test (CBT) mode to evaluate the candidates‟ ability across various segments like
Quantitative Technique and Data Interpretation, Logical Reasoning, Language Comprehension, General Awareness and Innovation & Entrepreneurship, for admission to the Management Courses in the Academic Session 2023-24. The participating Institutes of CMAT are the Institutions which will be accepting the CMAT Score.

NTA does not verify the information provided by the candidates during online registration and hence candidature will be purely provisional subject to fulfillment of eligibility criteria as per AICTE norms.

CMAT Important Dates

Eligibility Criteria

  • The candidate must hold a Bachelor’s Degree in any discipline. Candidates appearing for the final year of their Bachelor’s Degree, whose result will be declared before the commencement of admission for the academic year, can also apply for CMAT.
  • The candidate must be a citizen of India.
  • There is no age restriction for appearing in CMAT.

Reservations

  • In the case of Institutes run by the Central Government, the reservation would be applicable as mentioned below:
    • 15% of the seats Scheduled Castes (SC) candidates
    • 7.5% seats for Scheduled Tribes (ST) candidates
    • 27% seats for Other Backward Classes (OBC) Non-Creamy Layer (NCL) candidates as per the Central List*
    • 10% of the seats for General Economically Weaker Sections (General -EWS) candidates
    • Persons with Disability (PwD) with 40% or more disability
  • Each category will have 5% reservations for the candidates with 40% or more disability as defined in Section 2 (r) and (zc) of Persons with Disabilities (RPwD) Act 2016.

Application Process

  • Candidates can apply for CMAT through “Online” mode only. The Application Form in any other mode will not be accepted.
  • Only one application is to be submitted by a candidate. More than one application i.e. multiple Application Forms submitted by a candidate will not be accepted.

STEP 1: Registration for CMAT 2024

  • Access the CMAT-NTA website using a new web browser.
  • Click on the ‘registration link for CMAT 2024.’
  • The registration page for CMAT 2024 will open.
  • Enter your information, including your full name, date of birth, city, email ID, password, and mobile phone number.
  • Input the OTP (One-Time Password) received on your mobile number and click ‘submit.’
  • A 12-digit application number will be generated.

STEP 2: Complete the CMAT 2024 Application Form

  • Log in again using your CMAT 2024 application number and password.
  • Fill in your academic details within the CMAT 2024 application form.
  • Provide your personal information and choose your preferred test cities.
  • Review the information entered and make edits if necessary.
  • Submit your CMAT 2024 application.

STEP 3: Upload Required Documents

After completing the CMAT application form for 2024, upload the following documents: a passport-size photograph, your signature, and a PwD (Persons with Disabilities) certificate if applicable. The document specifications are as follows:

  • Passport-size photograph: 10 kb to 200 kb in JPG/JPEG format.
  • Scanned signature: 4 kb to 30 kb in JPG/JPEG format.
  • PwD certificate: 50 kb to 300 kb in JPG/JPEG format.

STEP 4: Payment of CMAT 2024 Application Fee

The application fee can be paid online through SBI/HDFC banking services using methods like debit/credit cards, net banking, and UPI/PAYTM services.

CMAT-2023 Fee

CMAT: Document Required

Candidates should have the following documents when filling out the CMAT 2024 Application Form:-

  • 10th and 12th Marksheet
  • Active email id and mobile number
  • Bachelor’s/ Qualifying Degree
  • Scanned photograph and signature
  • Valid photo ID card details
  • Valid email id 
  • Valid contact number 
  • Caste certificate (if applicable)
  • PWD/DA certificate (if applicable)

Exam Pattern

  • Exam Mode: Online (computer-based) mode.
  • Exam Duration: 180 minutes (3.00 hours).
  • Type of Questions: Objective types covering the following topics
    • Quantitative Techniques and Data Interpretation
    • Logical Reasoning
    • Language Comprehension
    • General Awareness
    • Innovation & Entrepreneurship
  • Total Marks: 400 marks.
  • Medium Language: English language.
  • Marking Pattern: 4 marks will be given for each correct response
  • Negative Marking: For every wrong answer, 1 mark will deducted

Exam Centre

  • City of Examination Centres where the test shall be conducted are given at Annexure-IV. It is mandatory for candidates to select four cities of their choice while filling Online Application Form of CMAT
  • Effort will be made to allot Centre of Examination to the candidates in order of the City Choice opted by them in their Application Form. However, due to logistic & administrative reasons, a different city or nearby area may be allotted.

There shall be negative marking for wrong answers, for each wrong answer 1 mark shall be deducted

The duration of the exam will be 180 minutes

Admit Card

  • The admit card of CMAT 2023 will be uploaded on the website after the successful completion of the application process. Students will be able to download the CMAT admit card by entering their login details. It will be released in January/ February
  • On the exam day, only the students who will bring a printed copy of admit card, one passport size photograph, one photo id proof and a PWD certificate (if applicable) will be allowed entry in the exam hall
  • The reporting time at the exam centre, exam centre/city, exam time, exam instructions, and other details will be mentioned in the admit card.

CMAT Result

The result will be compiled based on Final Answer Keys. No grievance with regard to Answer Key(s) after Declaration of Result of CMAT will be entertained. The raw (actual) marks obtained by a candidate will be considered further for computation of the Result of CMAT. No Score Card will be dispatched to the candidates and the candidates are advised to download their Score Cards from the website: cmat.nta.nic.in only.

There is no provision for rechecking/re-evaluation/re-totaling of the result/score and no
query in this regard will be entertained.
