ISAT entrance exam is conducted by Indian Institute of Space Science and Technology (IIST) for admissions to Bachelor of Technology (B Tech) courses in various branches of engineering. The institute, which is a deemed university, offers courses in the field of engineering and technology at undergraduate and postgraduate levels. Selection of the candidates is strictly done on the basis of their performance in the entrance test and counseling, which is conducted by the institute.

Eligibility Criteria

  • Indian citizens of a maximum age of 26 years are eligible for application at ISAT. However, the privileged applicants are given a relaxation up to an additional 4 years.
  • The 10+2 Examinations or any equivalent examination must have cleared from a recognized Board / University.
  • Appearing for JEE (Main) and JEE (Advanced) is absolutely necessary for the applicants. In the Advanced examination, General category applicants must score an aggregate of 20% with at least 5% marks in Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics individually. OBC category applicants must score an aggregate of 18% with at least 4.5% marks in Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics individually. SC / ST / PwD category applicants must score an aggregate of 10% with at least 2.5% marks in Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics individually.

How to Apply

IIST online registration for PG courses has been started from 7th April, 2017, whereas the registration for UG courses commenced from 8th June, 2017 and continue till the last week of June, 2017. The candidates applying for online application in IIST 2017 have to register themselves through the official portal of IIST 2017. After registration, candidates need to pay the application fee through Challan (for Indian candidates) and DD (for NRI candidates).

Exam Pattern

  • For General Category: candidate must have secured, at least, 74 marks out of 372 (i.e. 20% marks out of the total), along 6 marks out of 124 in each subject (i.e 5% marks out of the total)
  • For Other Backward Class (Non- Creamy Layer) Category: candidates must score minimum of 66 marks out of 372 (i.e. 18% marks out of total) and should also secure, at least, 7 marks out of 124 (i.e. 4.5% marks out of total) in all Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics
  • For SC, ST and PwD Category: candidate must have secured, at least, 37 marks out of 372 (i.e. 10% marks out of the total), along 4 marks out of 124 in each subject (i.e 5% marks out of the total)

  • 4-year B.Tech in Aerospace Engineering and the number of available seats are 60.
  • 4-year B.Tech in Avionics with total available seats of 60.
  • 5-year Dual degree course (B.Tech/M.tech), with 20 seats only.

IIST 2017 also offers 5-year dual degree programme of B.Tech in Engineering Physics and M.Tech/M.S. in any one of the following streams chosen by the candidates:

  • M.S. in Astronomy and Astrophysics
  • M.S. in Earth System Science
  • M.S. in Solid State Physics
  • M.Tech. in Optical Engineering

Syllabus

Admit Card / Hall Ticket

Once the process of online application is completed, ISAT will release the admit cards for the applicants in the official website of IIST. Candidates who have applied for this IIST 2017 exam on or before the last date are only eligible to get the ISAT Admit Cards. Hall Tickets for IIST Exam 2017 will be provided few days before the written exam in the official site..

Results

After the completion of Written examination, the IIST will release the results of IIST 2017 exam on its official website. Candidates who have attended the ISAT Entrance Test for the year 2017 can visit the official website for results. The complete details of IIST Entrance Test 2017 will be available on our website. Counselling

The counselling of IIST consists of the following steps:

  • Candidates whose names are mentioned in the list are required to register for counselling.
  • The admit card must be produced at the time of IIST counselling.
  • Candidates have to attend the counselling in person and any one parent (compulsory) should accompany them.
  • Parents or guardian must carry a valid photo ID proof while accompanying their wards.
  • Candidates must carry the above mentioned documents for verification during IIST 2017 counselling.

The following documents are required for counselling:

  • Original counselling letter along with the photocopy of counselling letter.
  • Original admit card along with the photocopy of admit card.
  • All the originals and at least two photocopy of 10th and 12th class marksheets.
  • Admit Card.
  • Score Card.
  • Community certificate (SC/ ST/ OBC other) signed by the authorized authority.
  • Original certificate issued by the District Medical Board/ Competent Authority for PD candidates.
  • Passport size photographs.
