Department of Nautical Science

The Course “BSc-Nautical Science” is a three-year fully residential course with the primary objective of providing aspirants a lucrative career as Officers in the Merchant Ships. The required time span to rise to the level of Master after graduation will be around 8 years. The course not only prepares the students for the first two stages of their career- viz on-board cadet and Navigating Officer- but the curriculum also provides them with sound knowledge base for the next two levels of examination.

The course is unique in the sense that the training provided is holistic and is honed to develop the student into not only a thinker but a well-rounded DOER as well. Hence, the course of training in India is compulsorily residential with workshop training, boat work, computer operation, team games, swimming, physical training, parade and a host of other extra-curricular activities.
