AMET has commenced its Maritime Education starting with HND Marine Engineering in the year 1993 followed by HND Nautical Science in the year 1994. Both the Courses are in collaboration with City of Glasgow College, formerly known as Glasgow College of Nautical Studies UK. In the year 2006 AMET has in collaboration with South Tyneside College to conduct Higher National Diploma in Nautical Science and Higher National Diploma in Marine Engineering. Both the courses are approved by Scottish Qualification Authority and Maritime Coast Guard Agency UK. Students are to undergo 1st year Course at AMET University and on Successful completion of the course and the Graded Unit Examination, they will be send to City of Glasgow college or South Tyneside College as the students selected while enrolling into the course. After completion of the 2nd year course at UK, the cadets are to undergo mandatory 15 months sea training. On completion of 15 months successful sea training, the Cadets are to undergo Officer of The Watch Preparatory course at respective UK colleges before appearing for the Certificate of Competency Examination conducted by Maritime Coast Guard Agency.
