Traditional Ganesh Chaturthi Sweet and Snack making workshop held at ACCLA

Margao based, American Culinary and Cruise Line Academy (ACCLA) organised a free culinary workshop on making traditional Ganesh Chaturthi sweets and snacks as part of its festive celebration. The culinary workshop was open to individuals in the age group of 16 to 25 years which was held recently at the Academy campus in Margao.

This culinary workshop provided participants with an opportunity to get hands on learning experience in preparing traditional festive sweet and savoury delicacies like Chakli, besan ladoo, shankarpali and modak. With the festive season coming up, the participants were eager to learn to
make traditional festive sweets and snacks. Veena Punekar, a self made entrepreneur and practitioner of traditional festive delicacies conducted the workshop and shared her expertise with the participants.

The young enthusiastic participants at the workshop watch keenly as Veena explained the traditional culinary methods employed in making the popular Ganesh Chaturthi sweets. She also explained the reason behind the process and methods which have been carried forward for generations. The participants donned in their chef caps and aprons tried their hand out at making the festive snacks with the assistance of Veena and the faculty at the institute.

ACCLA offers specific culinary programs that cater to the American cruise line industry. The course content is aimed at training students in acquiring specific skill sets which are necessary for the cruise line industry.
