IMS Noida organized a unique exhibition ‘Shakti Haat’ to promote Women Empowerment and Women Entrepreneurship

Institute of Management Studies (IMS), Noida organized a unique exhibition “Shakti Haat” to promote women empowerment and women entrepreneurship at their college premises recently. The event was organized by college’s own community radio Salaam Namaste 90.4. The exhibition was inaugurated by Ms. Preeti Kuwatra-Director, Petals World School as the Chief Guest.

An exemplary woman of substance and the chief guest for the day Ms. Preeti Kuwatra, Director, Petals World School said, “Today, women are present in each and every sphere of life, be it even in the field of entrepreneurship. Women are seen working with men in workplaces and are contributing to the overall growth of the nation to a huge extent. Ms. Kuwatra said that, a woman’s creativity is what sets her apart from the rest of the world.”

During this occasion, Ms. Barsha Chabaria, Head, Salaam Namaste 90.4 said, “This exhibition was put up in order to provide the female entrepreneurs with a public platform to showcase their talents. Female entrepreneurs exhibited things which proved to be outstanding. Some of them were, best out of waste, cozy clothing, art decorations, painting and, food.”

On this occasion, Ms Alpana Parikh, Head of Alpana Creations said, “Using things, which are rendered useless at our places, we can create useful things like pen stand, mobile stand, boxes for bangles, earrings and many more. Ms Parikh believes that such efforts are beneficial for the environment as well.”

    Students of Semester 4 of Batch 2014 of Interior Design Department of IMS DIA, Jhalak Aggarwal, Mayank Bhambotra and Shubham Singh along with their mentors Ms. Neha Jain, Mr. Shashank Aggarwal and Ms. Nidhi Bhasin has participated in The FoAID 2016 held at The Lalit, New Delhi recently.  The students have secured 2nd position with the cash prize of Rs. 25,000 in Students Competition Expressions organised during the event.

The photography exhibition is a creative expression which arose out of the activities of the student group Sprockets who are dedicated to learning photography and film in addition to their business management diploma at the Goa Institute of Management.
