Established in 1923, Department of Pharmaceutical Science (University) is a historic state university in Nagpur, Maharashtra, renowned for its extensive academic programs and significant contributions to higher education in the region.

Department of Pharmaceutical Sciences, Rashtrasant Tukadoji Maharaj Nagpur University is a pioneer Pharmaceutical Institution recognized Nationally & Internationally for imparting highest quality of education since its establishment in 1956. The Department has proved itself in producing Pharmacy graduates with sound scientific and technical background and has emerged as a centre for providing versatile graduate, post graduate training and conducting advanced doctoral research in the field of Pharmacy under the faculty of Science and Technology. The courses run by Department of Pharmaceutical Sciences viz., B. Pharm. and M. Pharm. are approved by Pharmacy council of India, AICTE, and DTE M.S. Department was recognized as the Department of Special Assistance by University Grant Commission, New Delhi and also recognized by Department of Science and Technology for FIST programme. Department has an honour of getting various projects from UGC, AICTE, DST, DBT, SERB, ICMR, CSIR, INSA and National Medicinal Plant Board. Department stood 1st in Vidarbha, 5th in Maharashtra and 33rd rank in NIRF ranking in 2020. Notification regarding B.Pharm. 1st year Institute Level Admission 2020-2021. Admission Notice 2021-22/1 for B.Pharm I, Direct Second Year B.Pharm, & M.Pharm I. B. Pharm. : The Admission in four-year Degree course of Pharmacy is carried out through centralized admission process. The candidate should fulfill the eligibility criteria as notified in Application form and Information brochure of MT-CET published by Directorate of Technical Education, Maharashtra State, Mumbai from time to time. The details of the admission procedure can be obtained from the Director of Technical Education (DTE), Government of Maharashtra, Mumbai or from the regional offices. M. Pharm. : The Admission in two-year postgraduate Degree course of Pharmacy (M. Pharm.) is carried out through centralized admission process. The candidate should fulfill the eligibility criteria as notified in Information brochure published by Directorate of Technical Education, Maharashtra State, Mumbai from time to time. Facilities

Hostel Facility: For students who are being admitted from different parts of country/state, the Department has a facility of Pharmacy Hostel for boys. It is located beside the University Campus Near Gurunanak Bhavan North Ambazari Road, RTM, Nagpur University Nagpur. The hostel was constructed way back in the year 1983 and has a capacity of 65 students in single and double occupancy rooms. The Department also has hostel facility for girls i.e. University Girls Hostel, which is located near LAD square, North Ambazari Road, Nagpur. The hostel has a capacity of 60 girls (Pharmacy) and includes girls from other University Departments also. The hostel follows strict rules which include proper time management, proper hygiene and proper administration. The hostels have a separate Gymkhana for boys and are also engaged in hosting various sports and cultural events for both boys and girls.
