Department of Ancient Indian History, Culture and Archaeology

 

The Department of Ancient Indian History, Culture and Archaeology is situated within the Mahatma Jyotiba Fuley Education Society Campus and comprises of a Departmental building and a Museum. At present the subject offers a Post Graduate Degree (MA) Course in Ancient Indian History, Culture and Archaeology. The duration of the course is Two Years (Four Semesters). The Third and Fourth Semesters provide an option between Group A- Archaeology and Group B- Culture. The intake capacity of students/ semester is 15

Eligibility for Admission

=> Graduate in any discipline from the RTM Nagpur University or any other university recognized as equivalent thereto.
=> Graduates from other Universities seeking admission to the M. A. course in Ancient Indian History, Culture and Archaeology, are required to obtain an Eligibility Certificate from RTM Nagpur University and submit original documents along with Migration Certificate.

Procedure for Admissions:
=> Application forms for admission may be obtained on payment of Rs. 45/- each from the office of the PGTD Humanities, Rashtrasant Tukadoji Maharaj Nagpur University, Amaravati Road, Nagpur.
=> Duly filled forms must be submitted to the Department along with true copies of the mark sheets of UG examinations.
=> The admission list will be prepared merit-wise and category-wise and displayed on the Notice Board of the Department.
=> The shortlisted candidates shall be interviewed by an Expert appointed by the University.
=> Upon selection, the candidates will be required to submit their original college leaving certificate and deposit the admission fee in the Account Section on or before the last date of admission declared by the University.
