OMD M. Des - Master of Design - A Master of Design is a postgraduate academic master degree in the field of Design awarded by several academic institutions around the world.The nature of Fashion has evolved beyond its association with only apparel and has become multi-disciplinary and multi-dimensional. Likewise, its approach to various concepts, material, technology, craftsmanship, culture, business, economics, promotion, consumption etc. has presented immense scope for study and response. The programme will have students with multi-disciplinary backgrounds who bring together their skills and ideas in new and exciting ways and combine these with research and practice. Students are trained to provide critical solutions to future problems and innovations for the evolving fashion industry. The research environment provided would create a platform for answering questions which may arise in the future.

The Master of Design (M.Des), is a two-year Postgraduate Designing course in India. The study program is designed with the multidisciplinary background who bring altogether their skill and ideas in new and exciting ways and combine these with research and practice. The advance study enhances candidates to explore original conceptual design principles and methodologies is a response to global fashion needs. The course preparing candidates enable to create, develop and manage to present finished product, demonstrate research and technical design power.

The master’s study provide technical support to candidates for developing technical thinking and skills in the field like Construction Techniques and Materials, Product Development, Research Skill for Fashion, Experimental Practical etc.

The study is focused on theoretical and practical aspects of Postgraduate Designing course such as Design (Introduction), Visual Design (Principles & Applications), Ergonomics Design Method, Graphic Design.

Eligibility

The candidates should have to complete Bachelor of Design (B.Des), Graduation from any stream, Education or an Equivalent Examination, with a minimum aggregate of 45% marks such candidates are eligible for pursuing this program.

Course Duration & Learning Mode

The Master Designing course requires 2 years of the time period in India, It’s a Full Time professional Designing course. The course is available for part-time correspondence and under distance learning mode.

Further Studies

After the successful completion of this course, candidates can also pursue the higher studies and do M.B.A in (Fashion Design), Ph.D (Doctorate diploma in Fashion Designing), and also specialization research oriented work in their respective field.
