Course Details:

The Bachelor of Interior Design (BID) is four years an undergraduate designing degree course in India. The Bachelor study involves the application of creative and technical expertise to an interior environment to enhance the quality of human life.

The Interior Design course is multidisciplinary and multidimensional course covering art, architecture, technology, furniture, lighting, materials, products, cultural anthropology, social science, and professional practicals, etc.

The study inculcates professionalism, design excellence, ethics and critical appraisal keeping in mind the ascending levels of subject complexity in a progressive manner.The study is focused on theoretical and practical aspects of Principles and Techniques in an academic discipline such as Natural Science, Creative Thinking, Communication Skills, Interior Design, History of Material Culture, Design Fundamentals, Technical Drawing, Interior Design Elective, Colour & Materials for the Interior Environment, Interior Design & Construction, Interior System (Lighting / Furniture / Fixtures), Construction & Detailing.

Eligibility

The candidate have to passed Higher Secondary (10+2) Education from any Stream or equivalent examination,with minimum aggregate 55% marks, such candidates are eligible to take admission in Bachelor’s Degree study program.

Course Duration / Learning Mode

This course requires study requires 4 years of time period with internship in India. The study is based on practical aspects of Interior designing. It’s a Full Time professional degree course, but some candidates use part time, correspondence education program and also go for distance learning study option to earn this degree.

Career Options

The Bachelor’s degree holder have an excellent career opportunity in professional sector of Interior Decoration. After the successful completion of course, one can recognize as Interior Designer or Interior Decorator, and able to chose a private profession or work as, Interior Architect & Designer, Senior Executive Consultant, Assistant Project Fellow, Supervisor, Lecturer or Professor (Interior Design), Materials Experts, etc.
