Madurai Kamaraj University to start free coaching classed for civil service aspirants

The Madurai Kamaraj University (MKU) is all set to start coaching classes for civil service aspirants. 85 candidates were selected from various districts of Tamil Nadu. These students will undergo 5-month training along with free accommodation and food.

The coaching will be funded by Anna Centenary Civil Service Coaching Academy in Chennai. The MKU and the Barathiar University in Coimbatore are the two regional centres of the Anna Centenary Civil Service Coaching Academy, where free coaching is provided for rural youths.

"Though the aspirants are not charged for coaching, it is not free. The government will be spending a minimum of Rs 2,000 on each candidate every month for accommodation and food," said Kalyani Mathivanan, the vice-chancellor of the university

P P Chellathurai, chairperson of school of youth empowerment, said "Individual focus would be given and every aspirant would be expected to learn by self. They would be assigned to collect material and share among others to make learning an enjoyable process,"
