Department of Anthropology

The department, established in 2013 is designed to focus primarily on Cultural and Physical Anthropology. It aspires to combine both theories and applied aspects of Anthropology with a specific and intensive research interest in Sikkim and India’s Northeast region as a whole. Regular seminars and guest-lectures are conducted by visiting scholars from both within and outside the country. The department has recently installed a physical anthropology laboratory.
