Department of Psychology
The department organizes field visits (e.g., industry, hospital); assignment presentation for classroom discussion; video classes; role playing exercise; experiential learning. The department is equipped with modern technology: a) Eye tracking device (Tobii) for visual perception study; b) Nexus-10 for biofeedback and neuro-feedback study; c) CANTAB for computerized cognitive assessment. Department of Geography
The Department was established in 2010. It strives for blending theoretical knowledge with empirical analysis, anchoring itself in strong field based research, especially on Eastern Himalayas. The Department houses a high end GIS laboratory for exposing the students to the art of spatial analysis. The faculty members are enthusiastic to share their understanding of cryosphere, interactions between environment, society and economy, political geography of North-east India, social-spatial exclusions, urban governance and tourism geography.

Department of Anthropology
The department, established in 2013 is designed to focus primarily on Cultural and Physical Anthropology. It aspires to combine both theories and applied aspects of Anthropology with a specific and intensive research interest in Sikkim and India’s Northeast region as a whole. Regular seminars and guest-lectures are conducted by visiting scholars from both within and outside the country. The department has recently installed a physical anthropology laboratory. Department of Horticulture was established in 2009 as one of the foremost professional course departments of Sikkim University, offering integrated B.Sc-M.Sc in Horticulture of 6 years’ duration. In the year 2013, the department started direct M.Sc (Horticulture) and PhD (Horticulture) with four specializations viz. Fruit Science, Vegetable Science, Floriculture and Plantation, Spices, Medicinal and Aromatic crops. In addition, the department also offers PG Diploma in Tea Plantation Development and Management.
