Sikkim Government B.Ed College is situated amidst lush green forest in a calm and serene environment. It is three minutes’ drive from the chiefessays.net small town called Soreng, and the place where the Institution is located is called Singling, which means the store house of wood in one of the local language –Limboo., Government B.Ed College, under HRDD was established in 2009 and became operational from 2010 onwards. The college is set up in an area of 11.76 acres of College land. It has two blocks, which has a built- up area of 682.5 and 744.39 sq. mtrs.respectively.The upper block, which is functional at present has good infrastructure with spacious classrooms, laboratories, multi-purpose hall, library, infirmary, in-door games room, exam record room, principal’s room, administrative room, pantry, lavatories etc., The college is recognized by NCTE National Council of Education & Training vide O.O no ERC/7-102 25 91/2009/2062 dated 19.11.2015 and is affiliated to Sikkim University. Recognition and affiliation is to be renewed every academic year. This is the only Government B.Ed. College in Sikkim which is financed by the Government of Sikkim. Students with COI Certificate of Identification are exempted from paying fees except nominal amount required for the routine internal College activities whereas students without COI are made to pay the minimal amount of fees., As the vision of the College is to create a new horizon of innovative knowledge and value based Teacher Education, all the faculty and staff are committed towards achieving the goals essaywriterusa that have been set. This Institute not only strives to create an ideal teacher but it is the only Institute which caters to the need of Graduate & Post graduate teachers working in the Government schools of Sikkim. Sikkim is a multi-lingual state. The state has eleven local languages which are recognized by the State Government. Though Nepali Language is the common lingua- franka , English has been chosen as the medium of instruction right from primary school to the university level. The reason being, it is the only neutral language in the tiny Himalaya state like Sikkim.
