National Institute For The Visually Handicapped (NIVH), Dehradun invites applications for admissions to M.Ed Special Education (Visual Impairment) for the academic year 2015 - 16.

M.Ed Special Education is conducted by National Institute For The Visually Handicapped (NIVH), Dehradun.

Duration:

M.Ed Special Education (Visual Impairment) course duration is Two-year degree program affiliated to Sri Dev Suman Uttarakhand University, Tehri Garhwal (Uttarakhand).

M.Ed Special Education (V.I.) - 15 Seats

Eligibility Criteria:

Interested candidates should fulfill following eligibility criteria:

=> A candidate who has successfully passed B.Ed. Special Education (V.I.) with minimum 50% marks from a recognised university or any other degree considered equivalent to B.Ed Special Education (V. I.) from an affiliating university and/or teaching dept. under any university recognised by UGC (or)

=> A candidate who has successfully passed B.Ed General Course & has successfully passed one year Diploma Course in Special Education (V.I.) recognised by the Rehabilitation Council of India with minimum 50% marks in each course

=> SC/ST/PWD candidates will be allowed a relaxation of 5% marks in the minimum eligibility requirements

=> Age - A candidate must be at least 21 years of age as on 01st August 2015

=> The Prospectus-cum-Application Form can be obtained by applicants on payment of Rs.350/- for General Category/OBC candidates and Rs.200/- for SC/ST/PH candidates, in cash or by the bank draft drawn in favour of Director, NIVH, Dehradun, Uttarakhand payable at Dehradun on all working days during office hours from 09.00 am to 05.30 pm

=> The filled-in-application form completed in all respects should reach on or before the last date of receipt of application form at the following address "The Director, National Institute for the Visually Handicapped, 116, Rajpur Road, Dehradun-248001 (Uttarakhand) on or before the last date of submission of application form during office hours

Fee Details:

M.Ed Special Education (VI)course fee is Rs 20,000/- (per year) and Caution Money is Rs 2000/- it is Refundable.

Application Fee Rs.350/- for General Category/OBC candidates and Rs.200/- for SC/ST/PH candidates. If the Prospectus-Cum-Application Form is required by post, an extra amount of Rs.50/- shall have to be paid.

The National Institute for the Visually Handicapped (NIVH) owes its origin to St. Dunstan’s Hostel for the War Blinded established in 1943, which offered a basic set of rehabilitation services to the soldiers and sailors blinded in the World War II. In 1950, the Government of India took over the St. Dunstan’s Hostel and entrusted the Ministry of Education with the responsibility of developing comprehensive services for the rehabilitation of blind persons.
