Master of Planning (M.Plan), is a Two years postgraduate Architecture and Planning Degree level course of study in India. The aim of the professional study program is to produce personnel for the government and corporate sectors, able to perform various activities to improve infrastructure such as Design of Large Townships, Institutions, Landscaped Environmental Planning to Conservation of Heritage Sites and building and resolving challenges related to urban human settlements.
The planning study develops the skills like designing, numeracy, drawing, computer aided designing project, and management skills, hence candidates become able to solve problems in an analytical, logical way team working ability. The study also develops knowledge, skills of writing and oral communication in various setting, decision making, adaptability and flexibility for dealing with an unexpected situation where necessary the ability to reflect on and improve professional performance.
The master’s professional study provides in depth and basic knowledge to looks at the importance of environmental management, development, infrastructure and services in creating the spaces in which we live. Planning, development and management of human settlements is becoming an increasingly important task.

The study is focused on theoretical and practical aspects and principles techniques in an academic discipline such as Computer Aided Design & Simulation, Photography, Art & Advanced Visual Communication, Water Supply & Sanitation, Illumination & Electrical Services, Energy Efficient Design, Modular Coordination, Facilitating Planning and Specialized Building Design, Metropolitan Planning, Infrastructure Planning and System Management, Computer Application in Architecture and Planning, Housing and Community Planning.
The candidate has to complete Bachelor Degree such as Bachelor of Planning (B.Plan), Bachelor of Architecture (B.Arch), Bachelor of Technology (B.Tech), or equivalent examination with relevant subjects and has minimum aggregate 55% marks, such candidates are eligible to take admission in Master’s degree professional study program.
This course requires study requires 2 years of time period in India, It’s a Full Time professional degree course, but some candidates use part time, correspondence education program and also go for distance learning, study option to earn this degree.

The Master degree holder recognized as Architect and able to set up their own Business as Consultant and Contractor or work as, Project Manager, Researcher, Senior Research Fellow, Professor, Lecturer, Front Officer, Senior Site Supervisor, Architecture Draftsman, Project Assistant Manager, Assistant Project Fellow, etc.
