The Department established in the year 1985, is engaged in teaching, research and training in the discipline of Public Administration. Besides, M.A. M.Phil. and Ph.D. courses in the discipline. It has also taken up a Diploma in Public Management (2 Semesters) and an interdisciplinary one year duration Post Graduate Diploma in Management of Non-Governmental Organisations (2 Semesters).
The Department has achieved academic excellence especially through its academic ventures such as writing books, research articles, completing research projects sponsored by international and national agencies. The faculty of the department has always been in demand as resource persons for various training programmes and other UGC assignments.
