Department of Music & Dance started in October, 1975 initially with M.A. Music (Vocal/Instrumental) two years course with intake of 10 seats only. Dr. N.V. Patwardhan was the first Head of the Department. The Department has special emphasis on research alongwith teaching of Indian Classical Music and Dance.
