About Department of Dairy Engineering

Background, academic mission, and departmental profile

This Department is credited with giving the students of this College their engineering entity. The students study numerous courses in engineering which are designed to meet the demands of the modern food processing and dairy industries. Their engineering skills are developed to a great extent due to the practical nature of the course and they can take up designing development and management of equipments and dairy plants.

The Department has a workshop practice laboratory with automatic lathe, drilling machines, cutting machines, both gas and metal arc welding machines. In fluid mechanics laboratory, there are facilities to conduct experiments like thermal conductivity of liquids and materials, Bernoulli’s equipments, surface conductivity of liquids and oils. A spacious well equipped drawing hall is also available.

The Department of Dairy Engineering is involved in conducting technical trade test to various engineering disciplines for selecting candidates for appointment to M/s. Almarai Co. Ltd., Saudi Arabia and other reputed companies. Staff members are involved in extending consultancy to entrepreneurs to set up dairy plants.
