Department of Animal reproduction, Gynaecoogy and Obstetrics

Department of Animal reproduction, Gynaecoogy and Obstetrics is working as per the guidelines of Veterinary Council of India. The department is offering courses in Veterinary Gynecology and Obstetrics, Veterinary Andrology and Artificial Insemination and clinics comprising a total of 12 credits to the undergraduate students. The department is also recognized as PG department and offering M.V.Sc degree programme in Animal Reproduction, Gynaecology and Obstetrics. A total of 16 students were completed their M.V.Sc, 1 PhD student and the research topics of thesis comprised primarily the studies on synchronization of estrous, management of repeat breeding syndrome and uterine involution using hormones and herbal drugs. Presently, the department is having two teachers and handling projects of university and out side funding agency. The department is having two Deoni breeding bulls for demonstration of semen collection and processing of semen for practical. The department is maintaining Co-1 variety fodder plot for feeding green fodder to the bulls. The staff members of the department are involved in treatment of Reproductive disorders, Artificial Insemination, Pregnancy Diagnosis, Attending the cases of Dystocia, Participating in Infertility Assessment camps and Transfer of technology to field veterinary doctors and Para veterinary staff. And similalrly, The department is conducting refresher training courses to the field veterinary doctors. And participated in All India Radio talk, Doordarshan TV and Teleadvise to the needy farmers. The staff of the department published 75 research publications in national and international journals.
