Department of Urdu The Institute of Transport Management was inaugurated in Andhra Pradesh on 10 june 1994 , with financial assistance from the Ministry of HRD. Govt of India under the Directorship of Prof.D.Panduranga Rao , who is also the APSRTC Chair Professor of Transport Management. ITM functions on the Principle of interaction among the disciplines concerned with Planning , Economics, Management , Human Resources Development , Safety and Behavioral Science, Engineering and Futurology. The institute undertakes Research, Consultancy, Teaching and Training.

Department of Sociology
Department of Sociology A Post-Graduate course leading to the M.a. Degree in Sociology was first introduced in Andhra University in the year 1964 in the Department of Social Work and Sociology which later became the composite Department of Sociology, Social Work and IRPM. However in the year 1976 a separate and independent department of sociology came into being. Prof. M.V.Murthy was the Founder Head of the Department. He was succeeded by Prof. K.Ranga Rao under whose able leadership the Department thrived and attained new heights.

Department of Russian The Department of Russian was started under the Indo-USSR Cultural Exchange Programme in 1969 with Mrs.Garbochev as the first Visiting Professor.To start with,there was only a certificate course.Later,the junior Diploma and the Senior Diploma were started in 1970. Prof.V.B.Sarma (retd) has been teaching in the department since 1992. The classes are held thrice a week on alternate days. Founded by Prof.K.Ramakrishna Rao, the department was started when the proposal to establish composite department of Psychology and Parapsychology in Andhra University was accepted by the UGC.

Department of Commerce & Management Studies The department of Commerce and Management Studies, the single largest faculty in Andhra University started Commerce at PG level in 1936. Later B.Com.
