The Ideal Colleges has attained a status of its own in Kakinada, keeping in its view the education for the new era. The College has been recognized for its worth by the parents, students, Academic bodies like the Universities, NCERT, NIEPA, financing agencies of our region. The Ideal Junior College and the Ideal College of Arts & Sciences, have been the outcome of the never tiring educationists like Late Dr. P.V.N. Raju, Late Sri P.V. Ramana Murthy, Dr. P. Chiranjeevini Kumari, Late Dr. D.N. AppaRao, Dr. N.S.R. Sastry and Late Sri Mandalika Satyanarayana.
The college continuously strives to serve the Educational needs of the community, being a useful component of the Society. The motto of the Institution is "VIDYA DARSAHA - VISWA SREYAHA" - The ideal of Education is the Universal Welfare.

The Society got the permission from the government in 1970 for Junior College and 1974 for opening of the Degree College. The College is now a pioneer institution which has B.A, B.Com and B.Sc with Computer Science , Electronics, Medical Lab Technology, Bio-Chemistry, Bio-Technology, Micro Biology at graduate level and M.Sc. Applied Chemistry, M.Sc. Organic Chemistry, M.Sc. Analytical Chemistry, Master Business Administration (MBA), M.A.Economics, M.Sc. Applied Mathematics, Master of Computer Applications (MCA), M.Sc.Computer Sciences at PG level.The Junior College and Degree College run in "Dr. PVN Raju Vidya Pranganam", Samalkota Road, whereas Engineering and PG courses run in Narasanna Nagar, Vidyut Nagar, Kakinada.

Ideal College of Arts & Sciences (Degree) (Autonomous) has been duly recognised for its services by AP State Government, AP State Council for Higher Education, Andhra University, UGC, AICTE of New Delhi and various prestigious institutions. The Ideal College of Arts & Sciences (A), Kakinada has become the first Andhra Pradesh State Government Aided College in East Godavari District to secure NAAC accrediation and Autonomous status. The Degree Courses of Ideal College of Arts & Sciences (A), Kakinada have full-fledged combinations in Sciences, having all the core subjects like Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry, Botany, Zoology and restructured & vocational courses like Applied Chemistry, Electronics, Computer Sciences, Bio-technology, Microbiology and Bio-chemistry. Inaddition to the Science courses the College also offers B.A and B.Com. The achievements of the degree students are on par with those of the P.G. Courses.In view of fast growing needs in the fields of Science & Management Courses we have started P.G. Coureses during the academic year 1992-93, initially starting Post Graduate Courses in Chemistry and is now accommodating eight P.G.Courses which includes MBA, MCA, M.Sc(Applied Chemistry), M.Sc(Organic Chemistry), M.Sc(Analytical Chemistry), M.Sc(Applied Mathematics), M.Sc(Computer Science) and M.A (Economics) which are affiliated to Andhra University, Visakhapatnam.
