Government Degree College, Srungavarapukota is situated in the midist of this picturesque location. A brief history of our College reveals its steady progress. The people of the region had to travel long distances VIZIANAGARAM, VISAKHAPATNAM to pursue higher education prior to the establishment of this college. The elite of Srungavarapukota realizing this difficulty, strove hard for the establishment of a degree college. Srungavarapukota panchayat has liberally donated Rs.50,000/- from its own resources towards the corpus fund for setting up of a degree college in 1982. Due to the untiring efforts of the local legislators and the public, the government of Andhra Pradesh had agreed to start a degree college from the year 1984.The college is established in the year 1984 vide G.O.Ms.No 509 Edu (J) department dt.28-11-84 with B.A and B.Com Courses. The college was temporarily located in the local government junior college and continued there till 1989.
