The Bachelor of Unani Medicine and Surgery (BUMS), is a four to five years Undergraduate medical degree course in India. The degree covers the medical knowledge of the Unani system Unani is the system of alternative medicines.The patients are taken care by enhancing the natural healing power of the human body. In India after the Allopathic, Ayurvedic and Homeopathic system the Unani system medicine system has come in this system the treatment of disease depends on the proper diagnosis. The clinical feature are, Symptoms, Laboratory feature and Mijas are important to diagnose and disease. The Unani system showing excellent results in curing diseases like vitiligo, Rheumatoid, Eczema, Leucoderma, Arthritis, Psoriasis, Bronchial, Asthma, jaundice, Filariasis, Acute and Chronic Diseases.
The medical study requires 4 - 5 year of the time period with an internship in India, It’s a Full-Time study program, but candidates can also pursue with Part Time through Correspondence or Distance Education depending upon certain criteria.
The candidates should have passed Higher Secondary (10+2) Education or an Equivalent Examination, for Science stream and additional subjects like Physics, Chemistry, Biology, Urdu and English, minimum 50% marks are eligible for pursuing this program.
Candidate have desire or interested in advanced studies in Unani system have various option like, Diploma in Unani Medicine and Surgery, Postgraduate Diploma in Unani Medicine and Surgery, Doctor of Medicines (Unani), or one can do research oriented work with ultimate aim and goal of providing better healthcare services and explore the relation between spirituality and empathy of significant importance. By pursuing in this programs, one can gain more knowledge to accelerate their profession and skills.
