S. A. Punekar, a civil engineer by profession and concerned about the welfare of society. He is the founder and president of this association. He started educational institutes with the aim to provide education to the children of Bijapur in particular and others in general. Today, the SECAB has 23 educational Institutions. These include Primary schools, High Schools imparting education in English, Kannada and Urdu language medium. Junior Colleges for Boys and Girls, An Arts, Science, and Commerce Degree College for Women, BBA, BCA, Paramedical courses were subsequently added. A Medical College in the Unani system of medicine and an Engineering college including MBA programs were established during 1996-2002. The association runs many other professionals and vocational courses at Malik Sandal Institute of Art and Architecture and Malik Sandal Polytechnic. These institutes are spread in Bijapur city and at Tikota village nearby, and at Bangalore, the state capital., VISION, To produce excellent medical professionals with strong academic base and sound practical competence, who can effectively serve the needy patients with empathy and compassion at all times., MISSION, To produce quality medical graduates and postgraduates to serve the country., To provide the best health care facilities to the people of Vijaypur., To continually strive to excel in improving the teaching and learning process., To promote medical research.
