Allama Iqbal Unani Medical College is located in Muzaffarnagar district of Uttar Pradesh. The college was started under the aegis of Rao Educational Society, which is a registered Society. The college is affiliated to Chhatarpati Shahuji Maharaj University, Kanpur. Allama Iqbal Unani Medical College offers undergraduate level programme in the field of Unani medicine - Bachelor of Unani Medicine and Surgery (BUMS). It is a four and a half year full time programme, with one year of internship. The undergraduate level programme of the college is approved by Central Council of Indian Medicine, Government of India, New Delhi. A multi-facilitated hospital is also combined with Allama Iqbal Unani Medical College.

Under the auspices of Rao Educational Society (Regd.) 'Allama Iqbal Unani Medical College & Hospital' has been established for imparting Medical Education through Unani System of Medicine.

The College is an autonomous non-profit making body situated at G.T.Road, (Roorkee Chungi) Muzaffarnagar at the distance of 4km from Roadways Bus Stand.

Muzaffarnagar is situated at a distance of 120 km from Delhi on the Grand Trunk Road, leading to Dehradun. The climate of city remains hot in summer and cold and dry in winter with intervening rainy season.

The College has the privilege of serving the society with a full fledged Hospital fully equipped with ultra modern facilities. The College is committed to deliver quality education in the field of Unani System of Medicine.

In short span of about 13 years of its existence, the college has been able to pass out several batches of institutionally qualified, practitioners of Unani system of medicine.

The College has its own land and building. The covered area of College building is about 40,000 sq. ft., whereas the uncovered area of the College is about 82,000 sq. ft. The College building consisting of several classrooms, Library, Hospital, OPD, Labs, Dissection Hall, Staff room and a separate Play Ground. All department are fully equipped with ultra modern facilities and basic amenities as per the norms of the Central Council of Indian Medicine(Government of India), New Delhi.

The Unani System of Medicine originated in Greece and passed through many countries before establishing itself in India during the medieval period. It is based on well established knowledge and practices relating the promotion of positive health and prevention of disease. The fusion of traditional knowledge of ancient civilizations like Egypt, Arabia, Iran, China, Syria and India. It emphasizes the use of naturally occurring mostly herbal medicines and also uses some medicines of animals, marine and of mineral origin.
