The Department of Apparel Technology & Management at Central College Campus was started in the year 2002-03 under the 'University - Industry - Institution interaction program', forthy first time in the country. B.Sc Fashion & Apparel Design and M.Sc Apparel Technology & Management courses were proposed and the curriculum was designed by Dr. K. N. Ninge Gowda. These courses provides students opportunity for a career in apparel industry & pursues research in the field of Textiles, Fashion & Apparel Science. The Department is offering 4 semester's Master of Science that seeks to develop and promote academic excellence in the students. This program is designed to provide the students with a thorough background in fundamental and advanced concepts of scientific, technological and management principles, and ability to define and solve challenging tasks in the fields of Textiles, Merchandising, Designing, Garment construction, Industrial Engineering, Quality assurance, Industrial Environmental Management, Fashion retailing and Human resource management.
