Prof. P.K. Garg has been appointed as the Vice Chancellor of Uttarakhand Technical University, Dehradun. Prof. P.K. Garg has completed B.Tech (Civil Engineering) in 1980 and M.Tech (Civil Engineering) in 1982 from the University of Roorkee (now IIT Roorkee). He received Gold Medal at IIT Roorkee for coming first during M.Tech programme. He has also received Commonwealth Scholarship Award for doing Ph.D. from University of Bristol (UK), and Commonwealth Fellowship Award to carry out post-doctoral research work at University of Reading (UK).

The anthem of Panjab University is written by renowned lyricist Irshad Kamil. The anthem is titled 'Shano Shaukat'. While interacting with media, Irshad Kamil said, "I have tried to make the anthem as simple as possible. The intention is to make it a classic. Just like a vintage car, it will retain its class even 50 years down the line." The likes of A R Rahman, Sukhwinder Singh and Pritam Chakraborty have lent their musical acumen for the anthem. The anthem was formally launched during a function on May 17 2011.

University song of Jawaharlal Nehru Technological University (JNTU), Kakinada. In 1972, "The College of Engineering, Vizagpatnam" became constituent college of Jawaharlal Nehru Technological University (JNTU), Kakinada. JNTU has 110 acres of sprawling campus, green with mango trees in the Port city of Kakinada. The college provides hostel accommodation for nearly about 400 boys and 300 girls.
