Anveshan 2016 is a national level HR Symposium organized by HRiday, the HR club of Goa Institute of Management (GIM), with an aim to create a forum where management students across the country get an opportunity to interact with industry experts and showcase their skills in the field of human resources. After three successful iterations, it is our aim to make Anveshan 2016 bigger than its predecessors.

Anveshan 2016, to be held on 13th and 14thFeb, will be an intensive two - day event, boasting of an illustrious panel of speakers, workshops, a national level case study competition, and myriad other events. As managers, accepting change is a requisite, but it becomes involuntary over a period of time. The real challenge lies in mastering the art of identifying the need and then bringing about a change, which no one else envisioned. The necessity and art of change are even more pertinent to HR managers. After all, the immense power of Human Capital is also accompanied by the capricious human nature. To continually evolve, to unlearn the conventional wisdom and exploring uncharted waters is the only way to unleash the latent human potential. Keeping this in mind, ‘Unlearn to Unleash’ has been identified as the theme for Anveshan 2016.

The various events under the umbrella of Anveshan 2016 include Inquisitive, Shot sight, Gyaanodaya, Yukti and Samiksha. Inquizitive, a national level quiz organized on 8th February 2016 by HRiday, the HR club, in collaboration with Brainvista, the quizzing club of Goa Institute of Management. The quiz attracted participation from across the country. Team Connoisseurs from Xaviers Institute of Management, Bhubaneshwar (XIMB) emerged victorious, with Team SmilingAssassins, again from XIMB, clinching the second spot. The quiz served as an overture to Anveshan 2016.

Shotsight, a national level filmmaking competition was organized by HRiday, the HR club, in collaboration with Sprockets, the photography and filmmaking club of Goa Institute of Management. Participants were asked to prepare a short film on the topic ‘Challenging Conventions’.

Vandana is a bohemian at heart and likes to pursue multiple interests which includes coaching and mentoring people. She’s actively pursuing research opportunities and hopes to contribute to the HR body of knowledge. She’s a GIM alumnus, class of 1999.

Samiksha is a national level case study competition, providing the country’s management students an opportunity to provide solutions to a live case study written by members of HRiday in collaboration with an organization. It is the flagship event of Anveshan, and garners participation from the elite business schools of the country, including the IIMs, XLRI, etc. The winner stands a chance of winning Rs. 50,000
For Anveshan 2016, the case has been written on the challenges being faced by a Pharmaceutical company while transforming its industrial workforce culture. The judging panel would consist of a Human Resource faculty from GIM, and a representative of the partnering MNC. With a legacy of attracting topnotch sponsors, this year’s event boasts the likes of People Matters, Capital First, Green Acres, and Big FM as primary sponsors.
