Goa Institute of Management organizes Anveshan 2016

The Goa Institute Of Management (GIM) organized its national level HR Summit, Anveshan 2016, recently. Anveshan is a forum where management students across the country get an opportunity to interact with experts in the industry and showcase their skills in the field of human resource. The theme for the symposium, this year was ‘Unlearn to Unleash’.

Two eminent personalities from the industry were invited to share their thoughts on this occasion and speak on the theme ‘Unlearn to Unleash’. Ester Martinez, CEO and Editor-in-chief of People Matters and Arthur Fernandes, Partner and Co-Founder of Music Matters. Ester took the students through her corporate journey in the industry and shared her thoughts on issues linked to the HR sector. Arthur who is also a fantastic musician conducted a workshop for students where he shared key insights and demonstrated team work through music.

Following the lectures, the event also showcased, Samiksha, a National Level case study competition at Anveshan 2016. Management students displayed their analytical skills, and problem-solving ability in front of students and professors, and more importantly, representatives from the industry.

The event received close to 50 entries. Amongst these, the top four institutions were selected to make a presentation to an eminent panel of judges. All the four teams battled it out for the top position and a cash prize of Rs.50, 0000. The winning team was Shreyas Raiker and Vaibhav Seth from Goa Institute of Management and the runner’s up spot was bagged by two teams, Manasi Patil and Siddharth from Welingkar Institute of Management and Rahul Sharma and Kanika Salooja also from GIM. Anveshan is the first of its kind HR event in the state of Goa.

Anveshan 2016 ended with a profoundly insightful workshop on ‘Strategic Management for Millennial HRs’, by Vandana Pragada, a GIM 1999 alumnus, working with Capgemini, one of the world's largest consulting, technology and outsourcing company.

All in all, Anveshan took students on a successful ride of unlearning conventional wisdom and harbouring a new perspective on human resource management.
