A Brief history of the Department :

The Department of Sericulture engages outreach activities like conducting orientation programs, workshops etc, apart engaging itself in research. Interms of its research potential, the department of sericulture can avail itself of interactive possibilities of joint exploration together with sister departments in the university like Botany, Zoology, Biochemistry and Microbiology and also with Regional sericulture research station (CSB) Anantapur. The objective is to make the department of sericulture a nodal agency in Andhra Pradesh for research training and dissemination activities.
