Year of Establishment : 1979
A Brief History of Department :
Established to cater to the need of the students of the campus. Later it was spread to the affiliated Colleges of Sri Krishnadevaraya University Area to organise the Inter-Collegiate Tournament, select the University teams, arrange coaching camps and participation in and organisation of Inter-University Tournaments. In the year, 1990, Master Degree in Physical Education was started and in 1992 M.Phil and Ph.D Programme in Physical Education were launched. This is the only University in Andhra Pradesh offering two years Master Degree in Physical Education and Ph.D programme in Physical Education.
