Brief History of the Department :

Since it inception, the Department has reflected in its curriculum its awareness of the newer trends in pedagogy and research. In tune with the growing interest in World Literatures and Comparative Studies, the Department revised its curriculum and reoriented its research in order to replace the traditional monolithic model for the classroom. Appropriately, the Department was named Department of English and Comparative Literature.
