Community medicine department is situated on second floor of new building, adjoining Sharda Hospital. Department is spacious, accommodating faculty members for 150 MBBS and MSc. and post graduate students There is a well equipped museum with specimens and charts explaining life cycle of various causative agents. Department has a well stocked departmental laboratory and library cum seminar room with latest books and journals where seminar and journal club are conducted. There are two demonstrations cum seminar rooms big enough to accommodate 75 students each. All facilities are modern as per MCI norms with Wi-Fi connectivity.
We are managing two health centers (Urban and Rural health training centres) exclusively for training of MBBS students. Rural health centre is well equipped with residential facilities for students, staff and faculty members.

The Department of Community Medicine, School of Medical Sciences & Research headed by Prof (Dr) Vijay Lakshmi Grover, working for last 40 years in teaching, training, research & administration of MBBS, PG, PhD and Paramedical Sciences; retired Professor of Department of Community Medicine, University College of Medical Sciences & GTB hospital, Delhi.
She enjoys fellowship from school of tropical medicine and received award under SEPI with Houston Community College System, USA. She has also worked as Principal Investigator for WHO, ICMR and UNDP projects and published books and scientific papers (around 50) in National & International Journals of repute.
