Department of Investigation, Intelligence and Security
Sharda University School of Studies of Investigation, Intelligence and Security has founded one of the leading academic centres dedicated to intelligence studies and policy-analysis in the country.
The courses are likely to be of interest to graduates in computer science, social science, criminology, law, politics, as well as professionals within the policing, military and criminal justice fields or in wider areas related to security and intelligence - such as intelligence and private security, retail and financial security or risk management.
The School is therefore inter-disciplinary, and includes participation from the University’s academics from the Schools of Computer Science and Engineering, Business Studies and Law in the fields of cryptography, computer networking, imagery, economics and law.
Teaching and Learning
The School includes some of India’s well experienced experts in intelligence and counter intelligence from RAW and CID who have worked for the Indian Government on major assignments both at home and overseas to help guard against threats and sabotage. These experts produce important original research which is published world-wide.
Our students have the benefit of lectures and assistance, from time to time, from these experts who impart practical input and insight as guest lecturers. In addition the University has links with national networks dealing with intelligence, security and safety management. This offers our students an opportunity to develop specialised expertise on intelligence and security and issues within the Indian and wider Asian region.
A distinctive feature of the courses lie in the combination of the rigorous study of intelligence and security policy studies with practical opportunities to develop intelligence skills through case studies and simulation exercises.
Simulation exercises provide students with an opportunity to undertake intelligence analysis on a real-world subject, and give students a chance to apply hands-on analytical principles and methods they have learned during lectures.
