Department of Library & Information Science

The Department is one of the premiere centers of Library & Information Science education in the Country. Established in the year 1976, the Department was inducted under DRS-SAP of University Grants Commission during 2002-07. It has achieved excellence in teaching and research in the field of Library and Information Science.

In the placement front, the products of the Department have been well placed in key positions in most of the national level institutions including IITs, IIMs, NITs, etc. The Alumni of the Department are quite visible amongst the LIS Professionals in the country.
