The Department of Computer Science and Application was formed in the year 1988 during the 7th Five year plan period having an intake capacity of 30 students. The faculty members give personal guidance to students both in teaching as well as laboratory experiments.

The thrust areas of research of the department are Software Engineering, Applications of IT in BPR (MIS), Programming Languages, Machine Vision, and Image Processing. The course is of one year duration and is formed according to the need of the present IT scenario. The course provides a basic knowledge on different aspects of computer application in theory as well as experimental techniques.
