Department of Instrumentation

University Grants Commission set up the University Science Instrumentation Centre at Devi Ahilya University 1n 1978 to encourage universities with a view to strengthen their technological infrastructure through collaborative efforts of the academic community of the university, to provide adequate infrastructural resources as developmental inputs to the universities and to nurture and spread the culture of instrumentation in the Higher Education System, and others. At present the USIC is of level II. The School of Instrumentation was established in year 1991 to begin with teaching programme: M. S. three semester course. Later on, in 1998, the AICTE approved the M. Tech. Programme with an intake of 18 students from engineering and science discipline. The School further initiated M. Sc. (Instrumentation) with an intake of 20 students. It is an independent School housed in a separate building with good infrastructure, equipped with modern equipments and machines in laboratory and workshops. The School also offers Ph. D. programme. The existing curriculum has wide applicability to various disciplines, which require instrumentation background.
