The Teacher Education initiates graduates and post graduates into the profession of teaching by instilling in them knowledge, competencies, skills and attitudes needed to act as agents of social change and modernization.

=> A well-established Educational Psychology Lab with Tachistoscope, Mirror drawing apparatus, Finger Dexterity Test, Memory Drum, Depth Perception Apparatus, Raven’s Progressive Matrices Test, Bhatia’s Performance Tests of Intelligence, Gross Manipulation Apparatus, Muller-Lyer Illusion Apparatus, Minnesota Manipulation Apparatus, Thematic Apperception Test and a number of Paper-Pencil Tests.
=> A well-equipped Educational Technology Lab with 2 servers, 30 computers with Internet.
An Audio visual lab with equipments like Interactive Board, Interactive Projector, Visualizer, K-Yan, LCD Projectors, Over Head Projector, Television, Digital Camera, VCD Player, Video camera, Classroom Talky, Public Addressing System etc.

Special Features of the Department :

Micro teaching and A. V. Workshop :
Micro-teaching sessions and Audio-visual workshops are arranged in the beginning of the I semester to enable the trainees to get rid of the initial hesitation in facing the students and also to learn the skills of preparing and using audio-visual instructional materials.

Internship :
All the students are placed in different schools in and around Coimbatore for a period of 20 working days in each semester where they develop teaching skills and administrative abilities.

Leadership Training :
Guide Captain Training was redesigned in the form of Leadership Training Programme from the academic year 2012-13 for the students of B.Ed. This programme aims at developing qualities in the students so that they are groomed into better leaders and citizens.
