    Gujarat Research Society is located amidst the residential area in the suburb of Mumbai. It comprises of an ICSE School and a Junior College, a Medical Center, a Guidance and Counseling unit, a Centre for Life Long Learning and Hansraj Jivandas College of Education.

    Placements

    The Placement Cell is instrumental in placing the students in institutions affiliated to Maharashtra state by coordinating with various institutions in Mumbai. The alumni (both home and abroad) are in contact with college Placement Cell enlightening them on the placement requirements in the field.

    Every year we have a mixed population of students. There are always some students who are financially weak and unable to pay their fees or meet other demands. In particular year the student council instituted fund called the ‘Student Welfare Fund’ in which students voluntarily donated for the benefit of needy students. This prompted the institution to continue with this philanthropic service.

    College has a well equipped Library, having a rich repository of books on subjects of prescribed for the study, current issues, research, and other topics to meet the requirements of the researcher in education. It has 18,267 books, 54 Ph. D Thesis, 97 M.Ed Dissertations, 99 CD ROMs, 210 bound volume of journals, 385 laminated photographs in the Library. Library subscribes to more than 25 periodicals and 8 newspapers. Library also subscribes to the N-LIST e-resources of the INFLIBNET. The Library has a rIMG_8348eference section with encyclopedias, dictionaries and books on general knowledge.

    In order to enrich the archive every year a number of books on varied topics of study and interest are procured on recommendation of teachers. The books are also purchased under UGC scheme. The library is having an area of 720 sq. ft with reading space for B.Ed and post graduate students and faculties. It provides open access to students. Book bank books facility is provided to students for the entire academic year. Library operations are fully computerized with display monitor to students with full access of information.
    Keeping this in mind the college focuses on training students in using technology effectively in the classroom. For the same purpose the college has a well equipped computer laboratory with 19 computers with internet connectivity. Student-teachers are motivated to use computers and collate information related to theory and practicum. Free internet facility is provided to all the students.

    In a digital world, student teachers must be prepared for new technologies and new ways of working. Developing these 21st-century skills in the classroom can transform economy. Therefore college has been conducting Computer Classes for more than a decade to prepare technosavy teachers. The student teachers are trained in the practical application of computers with respect to preparation of letters, annotation in MS Word, Preparation of mark sheet in MS Excel, Preparation of slides in MS PowerPoint, Preparation of posters in Photoshop, Use of internet in the teaching learning process, designing website using HTML and Dreamweaver. It helps our student teachers to be effective teachers in the digital world.
    Psychology lab is equipped with all the latest psychological tests which are helpful to measure the various psychological dimensions in an individual like creativity, Intelligence, Personality, Emotional Intelligence and Social Intelligence. These tests are used by the teacher educators, the student teachers for the action research projects and the Ph.d research scholars.
    Good communication skills are indispensable for the success in any profession and the most IMG_9044important skill among the teachers. The language laboratory plays an important role in the language learning process. The college has well established language laboratory that offers students interactive computer programs and audio/video materials to assist in their English, and Speech Communication development at no cost. Students work individually to improve grammar, listening / speaking and writing skills. Individual tutoring is also done for the students by the staff members. It helps students to acquire proficiency in a language.
