The Department of Civil Engineering was started in the year 1984 and currently offers B.Tech. programme in Civil Engineering (4-years) and M.Tech. Programme in Environmental Engineering (2-years), Construction Engineering and Management (2-years), Transportation Engineering and Management (2-years). Besides, the department also offers Ph.D. programmes. The department redesigns the curriculum and syllabi regularly keeping in mind the industries requirements and imparts sound technical knowledge in civil engineering through theory and practical classes to the students. In addition, the students are given industrial training in leading industries and encouraged to participate in co-curricular and extra-curricular activities to develop their overall personality.

The Department of Civil Engineering is equipped with all the necessary equipments / instruments / machines as per the curriculum requirement. New additions are made as and when necessary, as recommended by BoS.
Library facilities :
Department library is facilitated with more than 2000 books, besides about 6000 books in the Central library which is also available for use by both students and staff members. Department Library also subscribes to national journals and magazines relevant for UG/PG students. The Central library also subscribes to 10 journals in Civil Engineering.
