Department of Chemistry

Welcome to the Department of Chemistry, Kalasalingam University, a vibrant mix of faculties, researchers and students. Since its inception in 1984, the excellence of Department of Chemistry – an oldest one of Kalasalingam University, in each and every aspect has played an imperative role in the University. The Department offers various graduate programs and also offers diverse courses to undergraduate programs of other disciplines.

=> Ph.D. in Chemistry
=> M.Sc. Chemistry

Infrastructure :

The department enjoys the privilege of having spacious and well equipped Chemistry Laboratories with each 3000 square feet. The laboratories have wide range of equipments for performing regular laboratory experiments as well as cutting edge research.

Research Laboratories :
It has an independent research laboratory for organic synthesis as well (1000 sq.ft.). The Faculty members are carrying out research in the following areas: Energy materials, Polymer Chemistry, Electro Ceramics, Crystal growth, Magnetic Materials, Environmental Sciences, Sensors, Electro Chemistry, Organic and Inorganic synthesis towards biological applications, Corrosion Sciences, Nanomaterials, Light emitting materials, Chemical kinetics etc.

Department Library :
The Department has separate departmental library with more than 500 books / technical journals and magazines and act as catalyst for achievement of the students.
