Doctor of Medicine (MD)

The Doctor of Medicine (MD) is a three years Postgraduate advance medical courses in India. The Doctorate study based on gaining an in-depth knowledge candidate can choose the specialized field. The Medical Council of India (MCI), is the authority which approves and monitored various institutes to provide doctor of medicine degree course in India. M.D. Course in more practical oriented or research based deeper study. The course facilitates candidates to understand and gain knowledge of Individual field and speciality of Medicines like MD- Cardiology, Clinical Pharmacology, Endocrinology, Gastroenterology, Medical Oncology, Neuro Radiology, Nephrology and also pursue Basic Medical Science (Doctor of Medicine). The Doctorate / Master's Medicine study is suitable for those candidates interested in serving mankind by Practises Allopathic Medicines and wants to earn a good professional position in the society. The study improves the knowledge, mental ability and an aptitude to think logically techniques.The study is focused on theoretical and practical aspects of specialized medical subjects Like Anesthesiology, Community Medicine, Dermatology, Venereology and Leprosy, General Medicine, Paediatrics, Psychiatry, Radio - Diagnosis, Radio Therapy, Tuberculosis & Respiratory Medicine or Pulmonary Medicine.

Eligibility

The candidate who have completed Bachelor Medical Degree, such as Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS) or an Equivalent Examination with minimum 50% marks, such candidates are eligible to take admission in Doctorate / Master's Medical study program.

Entrance Examination

In India it is mandatory to give an additional Pre Medical Entrance Examination like : Common Entrance Test (CET) which are conducted by Medical Council of India (MCI). The eligibility is based on Merit. Some Medical Institute also take entrance test or interview and asked few questions on General Knowledge, Personality, Intelligence Assessment and English Language.

Course Duration & Learning Mode

The medical study requires 3 years of time period with internship in India, It’s a Full Time professional degree course. The study provide Doctor qualification in advance Medicines and Surgery. The course is not available for part-time and under distance education mode as it's a practical based study.

After the successful completion of Doctor of Medicine (MD), study program one can recognized as Allopathic Physician or MD. The prefix of Dr. before One’s name commands respect achieved itself. Master’s Medical Degree holder have an excellent career opportunities in Allopathic Medicine and Surgery, profession in both Private and Government Sector like Healthcare Centers, Biomedical Companies, Research Institute, pharmaceutical and Biotechnology Companies, Medical Colleges and Hospital, etc and also do Private practice.
