The programme was launched in 2005. It is designed to expose students to the depth and breadth of mathematical sciences and to the usefulness they are increasingly finding in various fields, such as medicine, agriculture, industry, trade, tourism & transport, war-fare etc. In view of its vast applicability the U.G.C has rightly recognized Applied Mathematics as a job-oriented course. The State Education Department has introduced it as an elective subject at the undergraduate level. The objective of the Masters Programme is to produce trained manpower to meet the requirement of academic institutions and other organizations.

The faculty is young, dynamic and dedicated, involved in teaching and research. Some of them are involved in collaboration with prestigious institutions in India and abroad. Besides the resident faculty the programme is also conducted by a galaxy of guest faculty from other institutions in the country.

The Masters in Applied Mathematics is 4 Semester, full time programme intended to impart knowledge of several areas of Mathematics and a specific area of application.
