Success - Desired by all but achieved by few

Contents

Every person in this whole world wants to be successful. I don’t think there would be anyone who does not wants success, it is something which is desired by all but achieved by few. Success has different definition for different people. For some it is money, job in a Multinational Company, top notch position in a company, to be a best employee, to be a best employer etc. It has different meaning for different people. No two people can have the same definition of success. For some like Mother Teresa it was serving the society. We have to decide what is the definition of success for us.

My definition of success cannot match with others so never try to compete with someone else because two people having different goals and different destinations cannot live the same life. Life is different according to our chosen path. A person may be content with just a small flat and normal lifestyle and feel successful while another person with all the luxuries of life may still feel discontented and unsuccessful. It is we who decide our thirst and hunger as to how much we want from life and what we expect from life. What is our satisfaction limit and what will satisfy us ? No one else can think or decide for us. It is we ourselves who has to sit down and think. I would say do not copy and set your own standards by concentrating on your strengths and weaknesses.

Success is a matter of choice and a mindset which we develop over a period of time upon awakening of our subconscious mind that “Yes i want to do something to be successful and make a difference”. For some success is to be in front page of every newspaper and magazine and not money so it is a different story everywhere. Things start turning topsy turvy when we try to copy and imitate the behavior of others which is not meant for us. I always recommend follow your heart and carve your own path. Do not walk on someone else’s path because it is his success story and not yours.

There is no course which guarantees success but its your own hard work and determination to start and keep doing till you are successful gives you success. It is very correctly said that “When the going gets Tough, the Tough gets going” - The tough people work hard and try to achieve what they want to inspite of all odds. They do not complain of things not running fine but they either take control of the situation or change accordingly to fit themselves to the current circumstances. They are adaptable to changes in the technology and accept them with an open heart.

We read success stories of one or other person everyday and get inspired but we forget that to make history these front page people worked very hard to achieve their dreams and make them a reality. They were rejected and said “NO” a number of times but they didn't give up and now stand tall in their venture. Success in life comes from understanding people and building long term relationship with them. These relationship starts yielding results in the long run.

Next time you are unsuccessful and things do not run according to you just plan then analyze what went wrong, what could have been mended ? What could have been avoided ? Why you were a failure? These will help you in introspection and help you in getting successful next time. Be prepared mentally and physically. Mental preparation is much more important because no one can overpower us or belittle us except our own thinking that we are small and good for nothing. When you are mentally strong you will accept things head on and move on in life.

Success is a journey not a destination. If you sit on your own success to eat the fruits time will pass by and you will soon be obsolete. So you need to keep working and improving to experience success lifelong.
