JSS College of Pharmacy was established in 1980 with the object of imparting quality pharmacy education in India. Initially only Diploma course was started and subsequently graduate, postgraduate courses and doctoral courses were added. The mission statement of the institution was redefined in the year 1990 and it was decided that the institution would strive hard to have a fully equipped Postgraduate studies and Research centre. Today the college is one of the largest postgraduate and research institutions in the country, imparting quality pharmaceutical education at graduate, postgraduate and doctoral levels. The college has been successful in maintaining high level of research activity recognized at the national and international levels. JSS College of Pharmacy, Ooty will strive hard to become centre of excellence in Pharmaceutical education and research and world leader in the field of Pharmaceutical Sciences with the mission of strengthening the health care of the country. The institution shall approach and live up to an image of an organisation whose professionalism and integrity can be relied. As leaders in our profession, we shall deliver services of the highest quality that fully satisfy the expectations of our students and other clients. Community pharmacists also provide information and advice about medications to physicians and other health professionals. In addition, community pharmacists increasingly provide pharmacy services and supplies to the growing number of patients who receive health care at home, and they are actively involved in community service
