Economics is one of the fast growing disciplines in the world. Almost all the Universities of the World offer different courses in Economics. In our University, the Department of Economics offers inter-disciplinary course to the students of BA Sanskrit. The designers of the course in Economics have included ancient and modern India Economic thought to the syllabus. As we all know Indian Philosophy and Thought are the two thrust areas of our University.
The ID B course which is offered by the department is as good as the courses in Economics offered by other Universities in Kerala. The papers offered by the Department are History of Economic Thought, Micro Economic theory and Elementary statistics. Those who successfully complete the course in Economics have ample opportunity to build up their career in various fields. The methodology, which we follow in the department for teaching is really fruitful. Our students secured distinctions in the University examinations.
