Ans. Bhupen lives in Assam. It rains heavily in Assam. So, houses are made on bamboo pillars to prevent water entering into rooms.

Ans. These houses have slanting roofs. As a result the rainwater does not cause leaks in the roof.
3.How does one enter these houses?
Ans. People use ladders to enter these houses.
4.At night the ladder is removed from these houses. Can you tell why?
Ans. This is done to prevent harmful animals from entering the house.
5.In which area is Chameli’s house?
Ans. Chameli’s house is in Manali which is a hilly area.
6.What is the similarity in the roof of Chameli’s and Bhupen’s houses?
Ans. Both the houses have slanting roofs.
