Odisha DET (Diploma Entrance Test) is a state level polytechnic entrance test for admission to various polytechnic regular and lateral entry courses like engineering, non-engineering, technical, film, TV and media courses offered by the institutions of Odisha. Odisha Diploma Entrance Test (DET) governed by Department of Employment and Technical Education & Training, Government of Odisha through the Directorate of Technical Education & Training, Odisha, devised the concept of holding a common entrance test for all the Professional diploma courses offered in the Government and Private Engineering Schools & Polytechnics of the State.

The basic purpose is to select candidates for admission providing a centralised single window procedure which to large extent, can secure, grant of merit based admission on a transparent basis, and the students are not exploited. Odisha Diploma Entrance Test (DET) governed by Department of Employment and Technical Education & Training, Government of Odisha through the Directorate of Technical Education & Traini9ng, Odisha, devised the concept of holding a common entrance test for all the Professional diploma courses offered in the Government and Private Engineering Schools & Polytechnics of the State. First semester diploma in Engineering:

First semester diploma courses (All Engineering except Mining & Drilling)

Duration: 3 Years

Eligibility
- Pass in HSC examination conducted by BSE, Odisha/ 10th standard examination declared equivalent by BSE, Odisha and obtained at least 35 % marks in aggregate, securing 30% marks in each subject at the qualifying examination with English, Math & Science subjects
- AGE AS ON 1.7.2017. Lower age 14 years and Upper age – No bar

First semester diploma courses (Mining & Drilling Engineering):

Duration: 3 Years

Eligibility
- Pass in HSC examination conducted by BSE, Odisha/ 10th standard examination declared equivalent by BSE, Odisha and obtained at least 35 % marks in aggregate securing 30% marks in each subject at the qualifying examination with English, Math & Science subjects.
- AGE AS ON 1.7.2017 Lower age 16 years and Upper age – No bar

Diploma courses under Part Time Programme:
Duration: 4 Years
Eligibility
i. Pass in HSC examination conducted by BSE, Odisha/ 10th standard examination declared equivalent by BSE, Odisha and obtained at least 35 % marks in aggregate securing 30% marks in each subject at the qualifying examination with English, Math & Science subjects.
ii. The syllabus and duration as prescribed by the affiliating authority i.e. SCTE&VT, Odisha shall be followed.
iii. Part-Time prgrammes are only for working professionals or professionals having two years experience.
iv. Minimum of Two years full time work experience in a registered firm / Company / Industry / Educational and / Government, Autonomous Organizations in the relevant field in which admission is sought.

- Lower age is 16 years for Mining & Drilling Engg., 14 years for other and Upper age –No bar

ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA FOR ADMISSION TO 1st SEMESTER / 1st Year DIPLOMA NON ENGINEERING
Modern Office Management (MOM).
Duration: 3 years
Eligibility
- Pass in 10+2 Examination from CHSE, Odisha or its equivalent examination in Science/ Arts/ Commerce recognized by CHSE securing 30% marks in each subject at the qualifying examination.
- Lower age 16 years and Upper age – No bar

Hotel Management & Catering Technology (HM&CT)
Duration: 3 years
Eligibility
- Pass in +2 Examination from CHSE, Odisha or its Equivalent examination with Science/ Arts/ Commerce and obtained at least 35% marks in aggregate securing 30% marks in each subject at the qualifying examination
- Lower age 16 years and Upper age – No bar

Pharmacy
Duration: 2 years
Eligibility
- Pass in +2 Science Examination from CHSE, Odisha or its equivalent examination and obtained at least 35% marks in aggregate with Physics, Chemistry, Biology or Mathematics as approved by PCI securing 30% marks in each subject at the qualifying examination.

How to Apply

Odisha DET 2017 application form is available online on official website of the board from Last Week Of April 2017. The last date to make fee payment is4th Week Of May 2017. Candidates will have to fill the particulars in online application form along with the application fee details which will be prescribed by the board as Rs. 100/- (for SC/ST/PC/Female) or Rs. 150/- (for male candidates) through the credit card/ debit card/ e-Challan or net banking at any branch of Axis bank. Candidates would submit the application form via online only.

1. To apply ONLINE application form for DET 2017, the applicant has to visit website www.detodisha.nic.in.

Please use Internet Explorer 6.0 browser or above while applying ONLINE.

2. Download “Information Brochure for DET-2017” by clicking the link “Download”.

3. Read the Information Brochure carefully before filling and submitting ONLINE application form.

4. You must keep soft copy of your scanned photo (in jpg format size below 50KB), your scanned signature (in jpg format size below 20KB) before filling the on-line application form.

5. Candidates who have passed the qualifying examination before 2017 should keep a soft copy of the scanned mark sheet of qualifying examination(s) (in jpg format size below 100KB) before filling the on-line application form.

6. Click the link “APPLICATION FORM FOR DET 2017” to fill the application form.

7. You will get the following five Options.
- On-Line Application Form
- Candidate Mark sheet Upload
- Take a printout of filled Application
- Payment Mode
- Check Fees Status

NB : The candidate has to exercise the operations - 1) ONLINE application form, 2) Candidate’s Mark Sheet upload, 3) Payment Mode for completion of the Application Process.

8. First Click on the “On-line Application Form” link read the instructions carefully and then click the link “Click here to proceed” available at the bottom of the page. Click OK to fill the application form for DET 2017.

Exam Pattern

The exam pattern is decided by the exam conducting authority so as to present the image of the Odisha DET 2017 in the mind of the candidates. The exam pattern is based on the type of examination. it is illustrated here for your convenience.

  • The Odisha DET 2017 will be objective in nature.
  • Total 100 questions will be in the final examination.
  • 150 minutes will be given to complete the examination.
  • Each question in the question paper of Odisha DET 2017 will carry 4 marks.
  • The penalty of 1 mark will be applied for each wrong answer.
  • The Odisha DET 2017 will be of total 400 marks.

Syllabus

Admit Card / Hall Ticket

The Odisha DET Admit Card 2017 will be available on the official site of the board in the first week of May 2017. Candidates may download their admit card by using their name and application number. There will not be entertained any other communication like offline or post for the admit card except online. Candidates may also get their duplicate admit card (In case of lost) from the examination centre with payment of Rs. 20/- with two identically photo as uploaded in application form.

Cutoff

The cut off score depends on difficulty level of exam, availability of seats, number of applicants, etc. Based on the cut-off score examination authority prepares the merit list and candidates are called for counselling.

Results

The candidates are required to enter their respective Odisha DET 2017 Roll Number for checking their result and downloading of their scorecard. The result will furnish the rank secured by the candidates. Based on the result of Odisha DET and the cutoff screening, eligible candidates would be selected for the next round of selection process. The selected candidates would be enlisted in a merit list and will be called for counselling cum allotment on the basis of appearance in the list.

Counselling

The Odisha DET Counselling 2017 has started from 1st Week Of July 2017. On the date of document verification, the candidates must fill the fee as Rs. 200/- (Counselling Fee). The application number, user ID, roll number and password should be secure by the candidates for further reference.

List of documents to be submitted at the time of interview / discussion before departmental research committee
(i) Downloaded Allotment Letter from the DET website.
(ii) Conduct Certificate and SLC / CLC of the institution last studied.
(iii) Self attested recent passport size photographs.
(iv) Migration Certificate in case of candidates passing 10th standard examination from any Board other than Board of Secondary Education, Odisha.
